Bountiful City Cemetery Records

Bountiful City Cemetery is one of the older cemeteries in Davis County, with burial records extending back to the pioneer period. The cemetery was established not long after Bountiful was settled in 1847, making it one of the earliest formal burial grounds in the county. Sexton records from the cemetery include burial dates, plot locations, and often the date and cause of death.

These cemetery records can be particularly valuable for research into Bountiful deaths before 1905, when statewide registration began. During the territorial and early statehood period, official death certificates were not consistently filed. Cemetery records, church records, and family documents may be the only surviving evidence of a death in Bountiful from that era. The records may be accessible through the Bountiful City offices, local genealogical societies, or online volunteer databases.

For deaths in Bountiful after 1904, the FamilySearch Utah Death Records collection provides indexed certificates through 1966. Searching this collection is free, and certificate images can be viewed with a free account. Davis County death certificates from 1904 through 1966 are indexed within the collection.
